As a result of traffic flow problems caused by too many trailers and improper parking, paid parking for boat trailers will soon be required at LaSalle Park Community Marina in Burlington.

The City of Burlington recently announced that in coordination with the LaSalle Park Marina Association (LPMA) and the Burlington Sailing and Boating Club, the LaSalle Park Community Marina will be ready to open the public boat launch on June 1, 2021.

A trailer parking fee will now be required for anyone parking their boat trailer at the LaSalle Park Community Marina or in the upper parking lot. Trailer parking payments will be required seven days a week, including holidays. Fees are a daily flat rate of $20 for trailer parking and there is no fee to use the public boat launch.

The implementation of paid parking has been put in place in an effort to improve traffic flow, reduce frustrations and create more order in the lots.

Residents and visitors can use the HonkMobile app or scan the QR code found on signage to pay for and top-up parking payments.

“Since the marina was closed for all of last season, I know residents and visitors will be excited to be able to put their boats into the water easily here in Burlington. We have a beautiful lake that can be enjoyed by recreational boaters and fishing enthusiasts,” said Chris Glenn, Director of Recreation, Community and Culture.
