Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills residents are lining up to get vaccinated

Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills residents are doing their part to get vaccinated.

The vaccination rates continue to climb steadily, with over 79 per cent of Halton residents ages 12 and up having received their first shot, while 42 per cent are now fully vaccinated.

There have been a total of 623,138 total doses administered in Halton, with 393,553 of those being first doses and 229,585 second shots.

Ontario has administered 15,921,585 vaccines doses since its last daily update.

Currently there are 63 active COVID-19 cases in Halton. Throughout the pandemic there have been 18,031 cases, with 17,737 resolved and 231 people have died.

Variants have made up 5,991 of the cases in the region.

Across the province there were another 164 new COVID-19 cases and nine more deaths. Due to a data review and cleanup, Toronto Public Health is reporting an additional 80 cases.
