A virtual meeting for a mixed-use development in Burlington has been confirmed for next month.

According to a notice, the Pre-Application Community Meeting for the Branthaven Development Corp. proposed development at 720, 735, 740 Oval Court and 5135 and 5155 Fairview Street, is officially confirmed for Feb. 11, 2021, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The notice, which is being mailed out to all properties within 120 metres of the subject lands, should be arriving a minimum of 14 days prior to the meeting.

“On behalf of Branthaven Development Corp., Ruth Victor and Associates is hosting a virtual Pre-Application Community meeting to discuss a proposal to redevelop five existing properties to the east of Appleby GO Station, including lands known municipally as 720, 735, 740 Oval Court and 5135 and 5155 Fairview Street,” stated the notice.

According to the notice, the proposed mixed-use development would consist of high-density residential, office, community and commercial uses.

The proposal consists of a total of eight towers ranging in height from 11 to 30 storeys with a total of 2,086 residential units and approximately 22,000 meters of retail, office, daycare and library use.

Should Branthaven Development Corp. pursue the redevelopment, it would acquire amendments to the City of Burlington Official Plan and Zoning By-law.

The City of Burlington has not yet made any decisions on this proposal.

The upcoming meeting on Feb. 11 will allow for the discussion on this potential redevelopment and provide an opportunity for the public to provide feedback during the early stages.

Additionally, City planning staff will provide an overview of the development application review process and planning policies in effect on the site.
