Milton neighbourhood has highest concentration of COVID-19 cases as Halton releases daily numbers

Halton Region has seen a jump in new COVID-19 cases today (Oct. 28).

The health department is reporting 35 new cases since yesterday. This follows several days where the average number of new cases was just above 24 per day.

Milton shows the largest increase with 15 new cases. It is followed by Oakville with nine, Burlington with eight, and Halton Hills has three new cases.

The main area of case concentration is in the south central neighbourhood of Milton, of which a large section borders Mississauga.

In total, across the region, there are 233 active cases of which 17 people have been hospitalized.
