If you’re in a car crash in Oakville and plan on notifying Halton Regional Police, the collision reporting centre (CRC) is moving in June.

If you’re in a car crash in Oakville and plan on notifying Halton Regional Police, the collision reporting centre (CRC) is moving in June.

The current CRC, in the lobby of police headquarters at 1151 Bronte Rd., will be relocating to the 2 District police station at 95 Oak Walk Dr. on June 5.

Members of the public can report minor property damage collisions (with damage exceeding $2,000) in compliance with Highway Traffic Act legislation.

The CRC’s new Oakville hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. It’s closed on weekends and holidays.

This means patrol officers will be sent to collisions in Oakville outside of CRC hours. Keep in mind, crashes which are investigated by police won’t be referred to the CRC.

The CRCs first opened in 2013 and are operated by third-party company, Accident Support Services International Limited (ASSI).

REMINDERS

  • Minor property damage collisions must be reported to the CRC in the jurisdiction in which they occurred.
  • Motorists are required to attend with their vehicles (driven or towed), vehicle ownership, proof of insurance, driver’s licence, information exchanged and witness/passenger details.
  • CRC staff will use these materials to document, photograph damage, apply damage stickers, take the motor vehicle collision report and facilitate contact with involved insurance companies.
