Halton Police arrest two in Oakville for car theft

A midnight police patrol of Oakville has led to the arrest of two men in connection with a stolen SUV.

Reports say uniformed officers stopped a vehicle around midnight today (Nov. 2) in the area of Trafalgar Rd. and Upper Middle Rd. in Oakville.

Their investigation determined the driver of the stopped vehicle was wanted for the theft of an SUV back in February. A search of the suspect’s car found break-in instruments along with devices specifically used to steal high end SUV’s.

Omar Ani, 25, of St. Léonard, Québec was arrested and has been charged with:

• Possession of Break in Instruments

• Theft of Motor Vehicle

Evens Casimir, 19, of Laval, Québec was arrested and has been charged with:

• Possession of Break in Instruments

• Obstruct Peace officer 

Ani was held for a bail hearing in Milton and Casimir was released on a Release Order.
