Emergency crews head to Mount Nemo in Burlington to rescue hiker

Emergency crews are at the scene near Mount Nemo to rescue an injured hiker.

The Burlington Fire Department as well as police and paramedics were called to the conservation area around noon (Oct. 23) to assist with the hiker who had trouble dealing with the rugged terrain.

It is not known if the injured person is a man or woman and if they were hiking alone.

At this point the injuries are considered non-life threatening.

The area is a popular location for rock climbers due to its proximity to the GTHA and other large urban areas as well as providing several kilometres of trails for hikers. It is located near Guelph Line and Britannia Rd.
