Even though this summer hasn’t been incredibly hot, it’s brought us a few choice sunny days—days that you might not realize you could have enjoyed on a Halton beach.
Even though this summer hasn’t been incredibly hot, it’s brought us a few choice sunny days—days that you might not realize you could have enjoyed on a Halton beach.
Yes, that’s right—we have beaches.
They might not be incredibly vast or expansive, but they’re scenic and pretty and offer opportunities to swim, tan and take sexy bathing suit selfies (hold your phone high above your head to look extra fit!).
Here’s a look at some local beaches you might not have thought to check out yet this summer:
BURLINGTON
Beachway Park
1094 Lakeshore Rd.
With 6.8 acres of park space and two kilometres of lakeside trails, an outdoor pavilion, playground and seasonal concession, there is plenty to do and see at The Beachway. For the weekend warrior or adventure seeker there are many active options – cycling, running, rollerblading and lake swimming. The Dofasco Waterjet Park and Playground is right around the corner and Rotary Centennial Pond is a great place to sail your model boat! In the mood for a more relaxing pace? The Beachway is the perfect spot for a quiet stroll along a picturesque shore; build sandcastles, bird watch or simply take in the views and bask in an inspirational sunrise or golden sunsets. Bronte Beach Park

If you’re looking for a beach along Oakville’s Lakeshore Rd. area, you might want to visit Bronte Beach. It’s perfectly peaceful (and Instagrammable) and you’ll love spending time here. Just be sure to park in a public area!
Coronation Park

This is an ideal summer park that sits on Lake Ontario and boasts an abundance of nature, a quaint beach and picnic areas. There’s also room for volleyball enthusiasts, and a splash pad.
MILTON
Kelso Conservation Area
5234 Kelso Rd.
The beach at Kelso has a designated swimming area that is lifeguard supervised. Part of a 35-hectare lake, there is plenty of space to splash around with the kids, set up beach chairs, sunbathe on the sand, and play a game of beach volleyball. After your swim, grab a snack at the beach concession stand. If you feel like exploring beyond the beach and swimming area, you can take a stroll along the boardwalk, try a boat rental, or go fishing.
