To make Beachway Park more accessible and inclusive, the City of Burlington has installed mobi mats on the sand along with a concrete ramp.

These modifications have been made in order to ensure residents in mobility devices can use the beach.

“This is what accessibility and inclusivity looks like,” said Mayor Marianne Meed Ward on Twitter, giving credit to city staff for making it happen.

The park, which contains 6.8 acres of park space and two kilometres of lakeside trails, an outdoor pavilion, playground and seasonal concession, has become a popular destination for residents, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
