According to a report from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Loblaw Companies Ltd. is recalling certain No Name brand chicken nuggets from stores due to possible Salmonella contamination.

The 907 gram package has a universal product code of 0 60383 89685 0. It also has 2019 MA 15 written on the outer package and 1358M on the inner package.

Consumers are advised not to eat this product, and instead return it to the store it was purchased from or throw it out.

According to the report, there has been one reported illness confirmed to be linked to the consumption of this product.

Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick, the CFIA warns. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable.

Symptoms include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.

Anyone who thinks they may be sick from eating a recalled product is advised to contact their doctor.

The CFIA is continuing its food safety investigation and will issue further recalls if necessary.
