Burlington’s Splash Parks Will Be Opening Soon

With the summer weather already on its way, many in Burlington are eagerly waiting for the city’s splash parks, spray pads and pools to open.
Luckily they won’t have to wait much longer.

Luckily they won’t have to wait much longer.
Spray pads have already been open since May 19.

Following that, some pools will be opening on June 29 and then the next day all will be open (June 30).
Swimming is not only a fun thing to do during the warm weather, but an excellent form of exercise as well.
It works the entire body and helps work out the lungs with breath control.
Everyone across the city is encouraged to bring their families to the spray pads, splash parks and pools during the hot summer weather.
“Everyone looks forward to that time of year when it’s warm enough to swim,” said director of parks and recreation Chris Glenn.
“We’re happy that Burlington can offer recreational pools, splash pads and spray pads so that all of our residents have a way to cool off, spend time together, exercise or just have fun.”

Splash parks have more elaborate play features, are paired with outdoor pools and have an admission fee to enter. Spray pads are free to use and not associated with outdoor pools.
At Nelson and Mountainside outdoor pool and splash parks, residents are invited to bring a lunch and Play and Stay for the Day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The park will open for pre-season from June 2 to 29.
There will also be outdoor early bird lap swims at Mountainside Pool on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
For the night swimmers out there, Nelson will have outdoor evening lap swims on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
