Burlington motorcyclist facing 14 different charges

A 19-year-old Burlington man has been hit with more than a dozen charges in relation to a traffic incident on June 2 where the accused was on his motorcycle.

A 19-year-old Burlington man has been hit with more than a dozen charges in relation to a traffic incident on June 2 where the accused was on his motorcycle.

At around 6:30 p.m., Halton Regional Police (HRP) said an officer was following up with a traffic complaint in the area of Dynes Rd and Woodward Ave.

“While conducting traffic enforcement, the officer noticed a northbound motorcycle with no licence plate,” said HRP.

Police said the motorcycle was being followed by another vehicle with proper licence plates attached. Based on the way the two vehicles were travelling together, police said they believed the drivers knew one another.

“After following the motorcycle for a short distance, several Highway Traffic Act offences were observed,” said Halton Police. “In the interest of public safety, the officer made the decision to cease following the motorcycle.”

On June 17, Halton Police said they were able to identify and arrest the 19-year-old driver of the motorcycle. He is facing 14 charges, including:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence
  • Disobey Stop Sign – Fail to Stop
  • Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway – No Insurance
  • Engage in Prohibited Activity while on Premises

The motorcycle was also seized by police.
