It was recently announced that the Aldershot library branch in Burlington is now the site for the City’s newest community fridge.

In partnership with Food for Life, the Aldershot branch has become the City of Burlington’s sixth neighbourhood food and community fridge location.

The fridge is stocked two times a week with pre-packaged bags of fresh food by Food for Life volunteers and is available, while supplies last for community residents in need.

Healthy food items are also available for students to pick up and are provided by Halton Food For Thought.

Upon arrival to the Aldershot branch, residents will have the option to enter and self-serve from the fridge or ask staff for assistance with curbside delivery.

Residents are reminded that no pick-up appointment is necessary and that wearing non-medical face masks or coverings will be required.

The library does not accept food donations for the community fridge, which contains items provided by Food for Life and Halton Food for Thought only.

The Aldershot library branch is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the exception of holidays.
