The location of a new university campus in Burlington will be announced soon, says Mayor Marianne Meed Ward.

Earlier this week, Brock University announced it is re-locating its Hamilton campus to Burlington with the expectation students will be served in the near future.

The mayor said the move is good news for the city as it provides benefits on many fronts.

“This serves our students and provides jobs,” she said. “It’s a perfect fit for our community.”

She said the move has been worked on with Brock for about a year.

It has been indicated the university is considering setting up shop near a Burlington GO Station and the QEW which would provide easy access to students coming from Halton and the Niagara area.
