What’s Open and Closed Family Day in Brampton

It’s Family Day in Brampton this weekend and falls on Monday, February 15, 2021. Brampton is still under a stay at home order so this long weekend will be a bit different. Family Day is not a national statutory holiday, as it is only observed in Ontario as one. So let’s enjoy it, Brampton! Here’s what’s open and closed on Family Day in Brampton:

Open:

  • Gore Meadows Covered Outdoor Skating Rink, Chinguacousy Park Skate Recreational Trail, Gage Park Outdoor Skating Recreational Trail, and Mount Pleasant Outdoor Skating Rink.
  • Brampton Winter Wonderland (some activities)
  • Many restaurants for takeout and delivery only (please call ahead or check online delivery services)
  • Most drug stores such as Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall will be open. Check individual stores for hours
  • Most Rabba Food Stores will be open. Check individual stores for hours
  • Many takeout coffee shops such as Tim Horton’s and Starbucks will be open. Check individual stores for hours

Closed:

  • All major stores and malls (some restaurants in malls may open for takeout and delivery)
  • All major grocery stores (i.e. Metro, Longo’s)
  • Government offices
  • Banks
  • Libraries
  • Community Centres
  • LCBO, Beer Store and Wine Racks
  • Federal Government offices
  • City hall
  • No mail delivery

Transit

  • Brampton Transit will operate on a reduced holiday schedule
  • GO Transit and Train will run on a Sunday schedule
