Wait times for visits to the emergency department of Brampton Civic Hospital can now be viewed online.

The William Osler Health System has developed the new system to show Brampton residents the current load on the system and to assist in making decisions on when to go to the hospital in non-serious medical situations.

In true cases of emergencies you should still go directly to the hospital or call 911.

By accessing the website, you will be able to see the approximate time it will take to see a doctor including triage and registration time. It will also show how many people are currently in the emergency department and is further broken down into how many people are being treated and how many are still waiting to be seen.

The site will be updated every 30 minutes.

However, users of the system should bear in mind that emergency departments don’t run on a first-come, first-served basis. The situation is fluid and critical patients will be seen first whether they arrive on their own or by ambulance.

The link to emergency room wait times can be viewed here.

Wait times for Etobicoke General Hospital can also be viewed on the site.
