A collision on a major highway just outside of Brampton is currently impacting the morning commute.

According to Sgt Kerry Schmidt on Twitter, a transport truck jackknifed on Highway 427 southbound near Highway 409. Another transport truck then slid into the first truck.

One truck ruptured its diesel tank causing diesel to spill all over the highway making things very slippery.

The collision, which involved the two transport trucks and a couple of passenger vehicles, was caused by the light dusting of snow that occurred early this morning (March 19, 2019) that froze on contact, making the highway slippery.

Heavy tows are on scene.

At this time no injuries have been reported.

We will provide updates as they become available.
