Family Literacy Day (Sunday, January 27 from 2 to 4 pm)

Join PAMA for drop in activities and a reading by Brampton author Yolanda T. Marshall , author of Keman’s First Carnival, A Piece of Black Cake for Santa and Sweet Sorrel Stand.

This event is presented in partnership with Brampton Library and the Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD).

The cost of the event is included with admission to PAMA (Students/Seniors $4, Adults $5 and families $12 with 2 adults and up to 5 kids).

PAMA Kids P.A. Day (Friday, February 8 from 10 am to 3 pm)

A family program billed as an ‘abstract arts PA day’, let your inner artist loose and dive into the world of colours and patterns. Drop-in abstract art activities inspired by PAMA’s collection.

Included with admission and members are free. Children must be accompanied by a guardian.

New! Sunday FUNdays (Sunday, February 17 and March 17 from 1 pm to 4:30 pm)

These activities include Family Art & Stories program designed for families with younger children from ages three to six, as well as special programming for the whole family.

On February 17 (during Black History Month), the featured events will be:

Storytelling with Sandra Whiting | 1:30 – 3:00 pm

  • A charismatic storyteller, Sandra has told her tales on radio and television, spoken at hundreds of schools to thousands of children, in churches, in libraries, at festivals and at special events. Come hear her stories at PAMA and to participate in a hands-on activity.

Family Art & Stories | 3:30 – 4:30 pm

  • Read Viola Desmond Won’t be Budged! by Jody Nyasha Warner and create your own identity collage.Family Art.

On March 17, the featured events will be:

Grandma Assiatou’s Seed Pouch Workshop With local artist Mosa McNeilly | 1:30 – 3:30 pm

  • Discover the healing properties of plants! Beloved character Grandma Assiatou shares ancestral knowledge and stories from the Atlantic to Kongo to Grenada. Taste, touch, smell and create your own seed pouch. Space is limited so reserve your spot now

Family Art & Stories | 3:30 – 4:30 pm

  • Express yourself through black and white art pieces inspired by the artwork of Ronald Bloore and the book My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss.

There is also activities on Family Day, which falls on Monday, Feb. 18 from 10 am to 4:30 pm, with activities and events inspired by PAMA’s winter exhibitions.

Dubbed the PAMA Kids March Break Colour Palooza, it features family fun drop-in activities between 10 am and 3 pm, plus daily special guest performances 10:30 am & 2 pm.
