Whether you’re looking for a hearty meal or a healthy fix there’s no doubt that a good sandwich will satisfy your hunger. I’m all about the classic PB & J but when I’m feeling adventurous I like to know where I can eat the best of the best sandwiches in town. Here are the top 5 sandwich spots in Brampton that are sure to excite your taste buds.

5) Little Shop of Ice Cream

This hidden gem in Garden Square should not be overlooked. The café offers a small variety of lunch sandwiches and the staff is friendly and the ingredients are fresh. Grilled cheese is always a safe bet but if you’re looking to mix it up, the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich is a delicious alternative. The pulled pork is tasty with a nice touch of flavor and combined with cheddar cheese, the sandwich is top notch. The meal costs about $6 and is a good size for lunch. Little Shop is an awesome choice if you’re in the Square looking for a quick bite to eat.

4) That Italian Place Café and Eatery

This cozy Italian resto is a great spot to enjoy an authentic hot sandwich. There are so many options on their menu, including pasta, pizza and soups. The venue is clean and the staff is super friendly. If you’re looking for a tasty and big veal sandwich, then this is the place for you. The veal is cooked well and the sandwich is complete with a good amount of flavourful tomato sauce. The bun was a little chewy for my liking, but overall the sandwich will please your craving. The resto is a good choice for great service and an enjoyable meal.

3) San Francisco Place

Don’t underestimate this tiny take-out spot on Queen Street East. The Italian resto has pizza, pasta, hot sandwiches and more available. I recently tried the meatball sandwich and after quick service, I was pleasantly surprised with the grub. It was a little messy, cheesy and meaty–making me extremely full and extremely satisfied. The tomato sauce really completes the sandwich with its rich and flavourful taste. I was also impressed with the yummy meatballs and the soft bun. If you’re hungry and looking for a sandwich to go, I recommend stopping by this joint.

2) Ital Sandwiches

Kudos to Ital Sandwiches who opened recently in 2017 but seem like they’ve been in business for years. The Italian resto is in the plaza at Martime Ontario Blvd. and has hot sandwiches, salads and catering options up for grabs. The venue is clean and tidy with lots of seating available. I ordered the mouthwatering veal sandwich and fell in love after the first bite. The veal was tender and delicious. The tomato sauce tastes authentic and has a nice kick to it. The only thing I would change is adding a little more sauce but other than that, this veal sandwich does not disappoint.

1) The Grainery

The Grainery is so epic for lunch because of their sandwich and soup combos. For under $10 you can get a good portion of soup (in total, the Grainery boasts a whopping 15 different soups, stews, and chilis throughout the week, including beef stew, broccoli and cheese, Italian wedding, tomato bisque, minestrone, chicken noodle, and even chicken gumbo) and a 12” sandwich with fresh meat, cheese, and bread – and you can pick your own with all of them. From whole wheat subs to flaky and buttery croissants, havarti jalapeno cheese to cheddar, and oven roasted chicken to prosciutto, you can customize your sandwich in so many ways and it’s straight up delicious every time. The Grainery also has small packaged salads and cookies and brownies for your dessert. And, there’s no space to sit, so they boot you out and your lunch is automatically on the go! Cheap, fresh, quick, and delicious – need I say more about they’re a top notch on the go lunch spot in Brampton?
