If you want a great artisan sandwich (especially a loaded veal one with all the fixings), this is the place to go. Hidden in an industrial-ish area just around the corner from Williams Parkway and Torbram, That Italian Place is a very busy spot with an authentic Italian feel. A word of caution when you visit: order early or have time to spare. This absolute gem of a restaurant appeared on The Food Network’s You Gotta Eat Here in 2013 and for good reason – every item on the menu looks and tastes authentically delicious. If you’re in the mood for a hearty veal sandwich with all the toppings, you truly shouldn’t look anywhere else. The veal is tender, the mushrooms are filling and flavourful and the hot peppers add a certain wow factor that makes the sandwich complete. Another awesome item on their menu is the authentic woodfired pizza! If you’re looking to grab lunch, this is the ideal spot.

4) Hyderabad House
There’s no shortage of Indian restaurants in Brampton, and a new one has joined the expansive roster! This one comes from Hyderabad. Hyderabad House opened at the end of August 2018, in a plaza at Financial and Steeles! The highlight on the menu is the biryani, which this place specializes in. The dum biryani with chicken and goat follows a recipe from ancient royalty in Hyderabad. According to the restaurant’s website, they serve a grand lunch buffet with over 25 items on weekdays and over 40 items on weekends. The appetizers on the menu include a curry leaf paneer, manchurian baby corn, chicken lollipops, and spicy deep fried chicken. As for mains, you can expect classics like butter chicken and channa masala. More niche dishes include a paneer butter masala and goat in a homestyle curry. There are over 20 different kinds of biryanis and pulavs (rice dishes) on the menu. That includes paneer, veggie, egg, chicken, goat, shrimp, and fish biryanis. It’s true that this place is brand new, and a temporary menu is available for now.
If you love dumplings, tea, chicken wings, and Asian-inspired dishes, a brand new restaurant just opened in Brampton and you’ll want to check it out ASAP! Green Bites Dumpling & Tea Bar has officially opened its doors at 35 Resolution Drive, in the same plaza as Walmart at Rutherford and Steeles. Green Bites is serving up homemade everything, but its focus is – of course – on dumplings and tea. Here, you’ll find fresh dumplings in a ton of varieties with unique wrappers, meat and vegetarian options included. Tea is also a highlight on the menu. Green Bites features organic loose leaf tea such as dragon well, spring green, high mountain oolong, wuyishan black, iron Buddha and yunnan pu-er. According to the restaurant’s owners, California meets Toronto at Green Bites. The chicken wing recipe comes from the owners’ relatives in California, and it’s been around for 18 years. What else can you expect on the menu? Grilled chicken with black bean sauce, sesame sauce salad, orange chicken, tempura, seafood, noodles, rice, and more!
A unique Indian restaurant boasting traditional flavours and a specialty opened recently in Brampton, and readers are a-buzz. It’s called Paranthe Wali Gali – which means “the lane of parantha-makers” – and it’s located at Clarence and Kennedy. A parantha is an Indian flatbread that’s popular in different styles in South Asian countries. The flatbread is typically flaky and can be stuffed with different ingredients. Paranthe Wali Gali serves a whopping almost 60 different kinds of paranthe (plural of parantha), including butter chicken, beet root, and chicken biryani. Some of the paranthe are inspired by different South Asian regions, like Chennai (parantha with potatoes and southern-flavoured herbs) and Kashmir (parantha with kidney beans and Indian herbs).

Fusion dishes are also available, like manchurian, noodles, and fried rice. Several lunch specials are on the menu, too. And if you like the food, this place also does catering for events.
