Tandoori Flame is one of the most beautiful buffet restaurants I’ve ever seen. My jaw dropped when I opened the door and was surrounded by clean, bright and modern Indian decor. Then the food is impeccably flavourful and the colours were so appetizing. Once you taste a little bit of everything, you get to see how there are unique tastes to go with every type of food. When you’re ready for dessert, the mango soft serve is AMAZING. Don’t forget the sprinkles! All in all, everything about this place is very classy. You have to go and see for yourself.

4. Wok of Fame
Whether you like typical Chinese takeout food, sushi, dim sum or you’re just up for anything, Wok of Fame can check off all your taste boxes. Many pieces of food are made fresh and out in the open, like their sushi (they even have their own Wok of Fame roll which is very tasty). The restaurant’s selling point is that you can create dishes for staff to cook or grill to your exact liking. Once you hit dessert, things get stressful because there are so many options to choose from. I counted 13 types of ice cream! We highly recommend that you save room for green tea and mango ice cream as well as coconut or mango pudding. And think of me when you have a cream puff. I do wish they had an unlimited tea station though.
What they are known for: The sheer size of this place and the live cooking stations (Wok and Teppanyaki)
Price: $25.99 weeknight – $32.99 weekends.
At first, I wasn’t too sure about Paradise Chicken because it looks like just another fast food joint, but I was quickly proven wrong. Located at Kennedy north of Queen, this place is all about its chicken dishes, so it’s safe to say they know what they’re doing. For me, fried chicken is all about that crispy exterior and Paradise Chicken offered up exactly what I was looking for in that category. It’s almost as if their chicken is taken to a whole new level of crispy, which is super satisfying. Try not to get too lost in the crispiness, because underneath there is in fact some chicken that is worth biting into as well!
In a plaza near Bovaird and Torbram, Bakers is a little hidden, but it’s well worth the adventure! From 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Baker’s serves up jerk chicken, fry chicken, or barbecue chicken with your choice of white rice or rice and peas and a can of pop for an impressive price of just $4.99. And have you heard of their Tuesday special? You’re about to: Baker’s has a special on Tuesdays where you can get a chicken dinner with your choice of rice…for just $3! It’s unreal. Below, the take-out container might look small, but it is mighty. Baker’s is high on quality and low on price, so it only makes sense that it’s typically a crowded spot on a Friday or Saturday night, as this Caribbean take-out joint is in high demand in Brampton. You can also grab a Jamaican patty for just $1.25, porridge for $4, or even 10 wings and three festival (Jamaican fried dough) for $9. This place is a hit for cheap Caribbean eats!
1. J. Red & Co
Definitely one of the most modern restaurants in Brampton, from the atmosphere to the innovative menu. Located on Vodden and Main is one of the gems in the city. Chef Jason Rosso is the mastermind behind the menu and if his name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because he has appeared on such TV shows as Restaurant Makeover, Recipe to Riches and the Marilyn Dennis Show. He is known for offering familiar food with a twist and the menu does not disappoint. What’s better than going out on a date and experimenting with a new style of food you have never tried before? You can try things like smoked cheddar mac ‘n cheese, egg rolls and crispy fried cauliflower ‘wings.’ Our favourite is the Bob and Doug burger. This place is featured in our cover photo.
