If you want to get an honest dim sum experience close to home, Kingsley is the place to go. Brampton hasn’t seen many spots for dim sum as of yet, but this one does a great job of providing that experience to Bramptonians. It’s considerably central, being located on Kennedy, south-east of Clarence. Everything about Kingsley feels very authentic and true. I had their dim sum and the experience was very enjoyable, mainly because I didn’t feel like I was having any form of fusion Chinese food, it was much closer to authentic Chinese flavors. The service was also very notable; the staff was attentive they were always there to check in on me and give me guidance in my order. Once the food did come, they gave me my space to eat and enjoy. In regards to their dim sum, I highly recommend their fried pork dumplings!

4) J. Red & Co.
Definitely one of the most modern restaurants in Brampton, from the atmosphere to the innovative menu. Located on Vodden and Main is one of the gems in the city. Chef Jason Rosso is the mastermind behind the menu and if his name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because he has appeared on such TV shows as Restaurant Makeover, Recipe to Riches and the Marilyn Dennis Show. He is known for offering familiar food with a twist and the menu does not disappoint. What’s better than going out on a date and experimenting with a new style of food you have never tried before? You can try things like smoked cheddar mac ‘n cheese, egg rolls and crispy fried cauliflower ‘wings.’ Our favourite is the Bob and Doug burger.
As far as comfort food goes, Radica’s Hot and Spicy is definitely a hotspot. It’s a little hard to find since it’s tucked away right at Queen and Rutherford, but once you get in there, it’s hard not to fall in love with the place. The first thing that both the staff members working at the counter suggest is the doubles along with boneless goat roti. They were able to bring the food out in an impressively short amount of time. So as far as service goes, the staff at Radica’s did a great job but it is worth noting that their food spoke volumes for itself. Served hot and with the suitable amount of spice upon request, the food instantly warms you up on the inside, which is great.
Sweets, hot meals, alcohol, lots of space, TVs, Nova Grill and Bakery has it all. You’ve probably seen Nova Grill and Bakery locations around the GTA, but this is one of the few that offers cooked meals. The quarter chicken meal is tied for the cheapest meal on the list, advertised at $6.99 in store. A huge perk is the variety of sides to choose from. Stick with your roasted potatoes and rice, or grab some steamed vegetables, rapini, small baked potatoes (with the skin) instead. And believe me, the list does go on. The chicken is done well and doesn’t venture far from traditional Portuguese tradition with juicy meat and a crispy-ish skin with mild or hot piri piri sauce on the side or slathered on. Come to the restaurant/bakery for a get together with family or friends and I can almost guarantee you will not be disappointed. Even if you don’t get the chicken.
Kwality serves the best butter chicken I have ever had, hands down. As soon as I tried it, my life changed, and I knew it would top this list. You can taste the freshness of this butter chicken, the chicken is so tender it falls apart without needing a utensil’s help, and the tomato sauce is creamy, slightly sweet, and spicy all at once. Though it was the most expensive meal on this list, at around $20 for naan and butter chicken, it was so worth the cash. Everything about this butter chicken was on point, even the naan was made just right – fluffy, crunchy, and buttery in all the right places – and all I could think about was when I could come back for another round. Best capped off with a masala chai – delicious!
