Here are the 5 hottest restaurants in Brampton for the week of April 13-20, based on the amount of organic page views and searches these restaurants received on inbrampton.com.
The Crown and Lion feels like one of those places you can see yourself coming back to any night of the week. The Crown and Lion has been a favorite for many Bramptonians because of the friendly and inviting atmosphere. Nearing Brampton’s border at Financial and Steeles, this pub doesn’t fall in line with the usual dark toned aesthetic that most pubs seem to have. With the Crown and Lion, right when you walk in you’ll quickly notice how well-lit the entire joint is and the bright colour scheme will also grab your attention. They have a lot of great theme nights, including Monday nights for wings and Wednesday nights for pub trivia. My personal favourite and main recommendation is their wings, but if you’re looking to grab something to share with friends, I also suggest trying their spinach and artichoke dip or the wings. Either way, you’ll leave knowing you had great food in a great place.

Definitely one of the most modern restaurants in Brampton, from the atmosphere to the innovative menu. Located on Vodden and Main is one of the gems in the city. Chef Jason Rosso is the mastermind behind the menu and if his name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because he has appeared on such TVshows as Restaurant Makeover, Recipe to Riches and the Marilyn Denis Show. He is known for offering familiar food with a twist and the menu does not disappoint. What’s better than going out on a date and experimenting with a new style of food you have never tried before? You can try things like smoked cheddar mac ‘n cheese, egg rolls and crispy fried cauliflower ‘wings.’ Our favourite is the Bob and Doug burger. This place is featured in our cover photo.
Although you might not think “poutine” when you hit a fish and chips place, these joints often offer fantastic fry-cheese-gravy concoctions. This classic fish and chips spot is one of the best in the city, and it also serves up a great poutine! Henry’s Fish and Chips, located in a plaza by Main and Vodden, has a poutine that doesn’t disappoint. It comes with a plate full of fries and they use real cheese curds—which was a real plus. The gravy os super flavourful and the classic poutine taste of fries, cheese and gravy worked magically in every bite.
If you want a great artisan sandwich (especially a loaded veal one with all the fixings), this is the place to go. Hidden in an industrial-ish area just around the corner from Williams Parkway and Torbram, That Italian Place is a very busy spot with an authentic Italian feel. A word of caution when you visit: order early or have time to spare. This absolute gem of a restaurant appeared on The Food Network’s You Gotta Eat Here in 2013 and for good reason – every item on the menu looks and tastes authentically delicious. If you’re in the mood for a hearty veal sandwich with all the toppings, you truly shouldn’t look anywhere else. The veal is tender, the mushrooms are filling and flavourful and the hot peppers add a certain wow factor that makes the sandwich complete. Another awesome item on their menu is the authentic woodfired pizza! If you’re looking to grab lunch, this is the ideal spot.
If you travel to one of Brampton’s most sophisticated and serene restaurants, you’ll get to pair exquisite scenery with a classic dishes. Terrace on the Green, a spacious fine-dining establishment that doubles as a wedding and special occasion venue, offers great ambiance and a classic menu full of tried and true favourites, including a roasted Chilean sea bass with risotto and a very fresh slaw. Although the risotto is somewhat average, the Chilean sea bass is anything but. The dish boasts soft, tender white fish with a crispy, golden top that’s perfectly seasoned. The fish is neither chewy nor dry and the lightly fried surface adds a delectable bit of crunch to an otherwise delicate item. The rest of the menu is full of fine dining classics, so it won’t disappoint anyone looking for a traditional dinner. The steak is another highlight on the menu – it’s elegant, and served beautifully, topped with mushrooms and served with a flavourful sauce. Talk about fancy.
