Hiking doesn’t just give you a chance to explore; it also lets you relieve some stress by walking through beautiful terrains while viewing amazing sights. Next time you feel like taking a day trip outside the city, you may want to consider going on a hike! With that said, here are the top 5 hiking trails to visit this summer outside of Brampton.


5)Dundas Peak Trail – Hamilton

This trail is located at the Spencer Gorge Conservation Area in Hamilton. The path will take you through many scenic vistas, including the Tew Falls and Webster Falls. The main highlight of the trail opens to a view of the gorge and the Hamilton area. Admission to the conservation area is $5 per person and a $10 per car parking fee.

4) Scarborough Bluffs Trail – Scarborough

This trail is located in Bluffer’s Park, giving hikers a chance to view the gorgeous backdrop of Lake Ontario. The entire trail is around 4-5km in length and is described as perfect for hikers of all skill levels. The path is also well known for the variety of wildflowers throughout the trail. Dog are allowed to walk this trail as well, provided they are on a leash.

3) East Don Parkland – North York

If you’re looking for more things to explore while on a hike, East Don Parkland may be just for you. Located in the area of the East Don River, this trail will take you near wetlands, wildlife and wildflowers. Animals in the area include rabbits, water birds and even beavers! Whether you’re admiring the flowers or trying to take a picture of the animals in the area, this trail has something for everyone.

2) Elora Gorge – Elora

Located in the area of the Grand River Valley, this trail will take you near rush waterfalls and serene rivers. The big highlight of the trail is the chance to inner tube down the river. As this trail goes through the Elora Gorge area, you’ll be surrounded by towering cliffs and vast open scenery. The path is not very difficult, so it’s an ideal start for beginners.

1) Bruce Trail – Niagara

This trail is part of the Niagara Escarpment, one of the country’s most popular conservation areas. This trail measures around 890 km in length, so it’s not something you can fully complete in one trip. However, due to the massive size of the trail, you’ll have plenty of wildness to explore and sights to discover. You’ll be able to look at towering cliffs with beautiful rock formations formed naturally over thousands of years. Through the trail, you’ll be brought next to views of running waterfalls and open valleys. There are also many rest areas and parks around the trail areas, perfect places to have a picnic.
