Peel Regional Police now say a three-car collision in Brampton has sent two to hospital and led to the power outage that has affected many homes in the northern part of the city and the shutting down of a major intersection.

Police say the incident happened just before 10 a.m. this morning (January 5) at Mayfield Rd. and McLaughlin Rd.

As a result of the collision, two cars were sent into a ditch knocking down an electrical poll causing the power outage. Wires are down as a result as crews from Alectra are now on the scene to repair the damage.

The injuries of those involved in the crash are not considered life threatening.

As well, McLaughlin has been closed from Old School Rd. to Wainwright Dr. and Mayfield has been shutdown from Edenbrook Hill Dr. to Van Kirk Dr.
