Now that the Province has confirmed schools will remain closed at least until the end of this school year, many parents are trying to figure out what that means for their kids’ education.

A recent study from the Association for Canadian Studies (ACS), many parents are concerned about how the pandemic will impact their child’s education, particularly when it comes to eLearning.

According to the findings, 64 per cent of respondents believe eLearning will continue to be used by Ontario schools even after the pandemic ends.

Despite the fact some Ontarians are concerned about issues with eLearning, such as accessibility, 87 per cent feel it’s important for children to graduate with digital and technological skills in order to thrive in the labour market.

Additionally, 79 per cent are concerned about the impact COVID-19 will have on the continuity of learning for Canadian students.

Further, 27 per cent said they would be willing to pay for a private e-Learning teacher for their children.

When it comes to how children feel about online studies, it’s nearly even—42 per cent of parents have said their children are enjoying learning from home, while 47 per cent have said their children are disliking learning from home.
