Some Roads Will Remain Closed Following Chemical Fire in Brampton

Shortly before 3:15 p.m., Peel police announced that emergency crews were responding to a blaze in the Hanson and Eastern area (located near the Queen and Kennedy intersection). Shortly afterwards, Brampton fire declared the incident a possible HazMat situation.
Closures were in effect on Queen between June and Hansen and on Kennedy between Church and Eastern.
At 4:15 p.m., Brampton Fire said it was starting to release crews and open area roads, but police advised residents that Eastern Ave. is still closed.
