SIU investigating man’s death after Canada Day shooting in Brampton

The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating the death of a man in Brampton on Thursday, July 1.
At 4:10 p.m. on July 1, gunshots were heard inside a residential building at Charolais Blvd and McMurchy Ave S.
“When officers arrived on scene, there was an interaction between the male and the police,” said the SIU. “The male went into medical distress and was transported to the hospital for treatment.”
The 22 year old male was pronounced dead shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2.
The cause of death has not been disclosed at this time.
The SIU is continuing to investigate this incident and is asking anyone who may have information to contact their lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529.
