Renowned Bramptonian Will Speak at Canada’s Largest TEDx Event

It’s no secret that Brampton boasts incredible talent, from actors, to musicians, to entrepreneurs, and beyond.

And Brampton’s arts and culture scene is truly booming.

Now, an internationally recognized Bramptonian will officially be speaking at the largest TEDx event in Canada, TEDx Toronto.

Julien Christian Lutz, aka. Director X, is a renowned director who has directed high-budget videos for such big names as Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Justin Bieber, and Kanye West. And he’s – of course – from Brampton!
TEDx Toronto is happening on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Toronto’s Evergreen Brick Works. It’s been runnng for 10 years.

For those who might not know, TED is an organization that provides a platform for short, powerful, and inspirational talks from leaders around the world. TEDx events are independently organized spaces for a series of those talks.

As for Director X, he has drawn a lot of positive attention to himself and to Brampton.

He won Best Feature at the Atlantic Film Festival for his directorial debut in 2015, and recently directed “Superfly” for Sony, Columbia Pictures, which debuted in theatres this June.

His work has been recognized by the Much Music Video Awards and the MTV Music Video Awards.

Here in Brampton, the filmmaker and music producer is being inducted into Brampton’s Arts Walk of Fame at an event on Friday September 14, which you can learn more about here.

At TEDx in October, Director X will be a part of a series of speakers, including Sarain Fox, Host of Future History on APTN, RISE on VICELAND and Anishinaabekwe Activist, Performer and Dancer, Sabarish Gnanamoorthy, 15-year-old Virtual and Augmented Reality Developer, and Akwasi Owusu-Bempah, MA, PhD, Assistant Professor, Sociology at U of T.
