Peel police say they received a call at 10:22 pm in regard to a person in Brampton that was injured by a fallen tree.
Police say the incident occurred on Wanless Drive and were helping the injured person along with other Emergency Services.
According to police, the injuries were serious but are not believed to be life-threatening.
Wanless Drive is closed in the area, so police are advising drivers to seek alternate routes.

UPDATE: Police say Wanless Drive has now been re-opened in both directions. The closure was in the area of Queen Mary and Edenbrook Hill Drive.
UPDATE #2: Police say the victim has been transported to a hospital for further treatment. There are currently no updates on the status of the injury.
