Police are investigating a murder/suicide incident in Brampton.
Peel police say that around 2:08 p.m. on Dec. 9, 2019, officers responded to a call in the area of Eagleridge Drive and Bighorn Crescent. Upon arriving at the residence, officers discovered the bodies of a 27-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man.
After an investigation, it was determined the woman’s death was the result of a homicide.
At a Dec. 10 news conference, Peel Regional Police Inspector Martin Ottaway told reporters that police believe the male murdered the woman and took his own life.

Ottaway said the female victim and the deceased male had been in an intimate relationship in the past.
The victim was reported missing to Toronto police by a friend shortly before she was murdered and police were actively investigating her disappearance before tracing her to the Brampton residence, Ottaway said.
Ottaway said police had received no reports of domestic issues involving the victim of the deceased male before.
“Neither party is known to police,” Ottaway told reporters.
Police have not yet released the identity of the victim or the deceased male.
Ottaway told reporters that police do not know if the female victim was abducted, nor do they know how she ended up at the house.
Ottaway says he does not believe they were still involved with one another romantically at the time of the incident.
It is not clear how long the female victim was missing before her friend reported her disappearance to police.
