Police body cameras get full roll out at Pearson Airport

The full roll out of body cameras that will be worn by Peel Regional Police at Pearson Airport begins today.
Cameras will now be part of the uniform as police conduct their patrols of the airport and comes after a trial period which began last fall.
The cameras will help document all interactions the police have and follows a growing trend of camera use in police departments across North America.
As well, the cameras will have live-stream technology which allow for others, such as medical personal, to assist officers in the case of health emergencies.
The Airport Division is the first to wear the device which will eventually be worn by all officers in Brampton and Mississauga within the next two years.
