Police Arrest Two Men in Connection With Brampton Murder

Police have arrested two men in connection with the Region of Peel’s sixth homicide of 2016–an incident that claimed the life of a 24-year-old Mississauga man.

Police have arrested two men in connection with the Region of Peel’s sixth homicide of 2016–an incident that claimed the life of a 24-year-old Mississauga man.

Peel police report that on Friday, May 13, 2016, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of a strip plaza in the Lisa Street and Dixie Road area in Brampton.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a victim with obvious signs of trauma. He was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was identified as 24-year-old Kadeem Bascombe.

On Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, investigators arrested and charged 36-year-old Brampton man Ronald Junior Thomas and 24-year-old Brampton man Treston Brown.

Police say Thomas is facing numerous firearms and drug related charges. He was also charged with first degree murder on Oct. 26. He appeared in court on Friday, Oct. 27 for a remand hearing.

During the investigation, the Peel Regional Police Homicide and Missing Persons investigators conducted multiple search warrants at various locations and reportedly seized three handguns, two rifles and a shotgun.

Police say a large quantity of cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana was also seized during the search warrants.

Police have charged 59-year-old Brampton woman Tracey Farnham, 27-year-old Ryan Newhook and 31-year-old Toronto man Stephen Brown with numerous firearm and drug related offenses pertaining to an incident following the homicide.
