Police arrest 30-year-old Brampton man in connection to voyeurism investigation

On July 25, between the hours of 3:50 p.m. and 5:17 p.m., the suspect—30-year-old Andre Lawrence—allegedly entered and exited the women’s washrooms of a department store in the area of Resolution Drive and Steeles Avenue East.

During this time, Lawrence allegedly hid in one of the stalls in the women’s washroom and waited until a 28-year-old woman occupied the stall next to him.

Lawrence then, allegedly, slid a cell phone under the partition to snap a picture of the woman—he fled the scene after being discovered.

Lawrence is also believed to be connected to another incident that occurred on July 27 at approximately 10:51 p.m.

The second incident occurred at a drugstore in the area of Kennedy Road South and Queen Street East. Lawrence allegedly placed his cell phone under the victim’s—a 25-year-old woman—skirt before allegedly assaulting her.

Police believe Lawrence is connected to a third incident that took place on August 18 during the morning at a shopping mall in the area of Kennedy Road South and Clarence Street.

According to police, Lawrence allegedly entered and exited the women’s washroom multiple times, and was caught hiding in a stall while two women were using the facilities.

Lawrence has been charged with Sexual Assault, two counts of Voyeurism, two counts of Mischief – Prevent Lawful Enjoyment, and Breach of Probation.

He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on August 18, 2020.
