While Halloween will undoubtedly look different this year, many families still want to celebrate the spooky holiday in some capacity.
While Dr. Theresa Tam hasn’t ruled out trick-or-treating this year—she suggested trick-or-treating outdoors while practicing physical distancing should be fine—it’s unlikely many parents will partake in the annual tradition, especially given the fact Ontario has relegated certain regions to a modified Stage 2 due to a spike in COVID-19 cases.
While it’s still unclear how many, if any, people will be participating in trick-or-treating this year, the stores’ shelves are still stocked with Halloween candy.
From fun-size candy bars, including popular choices such as Snickers, Mars Bar, and Coffee Crisp; to small packets of Skittles, Starburst, and Reese’s Pieces; to savoury snacks such as mini bags of chips—there are always plenty of different options, no matter people’s preferences.

However, this time of year also features the emergence of one of the more controversial candies: candy corn.
Like chocolate eggs are to Easter, candy corn is one of the candies most commonly associated with Halloween, but not necessarily because people enjoy it.
It seems everyone has an opinion when it comes to the controversial confectionary, some love it;
I love candy corn. There, I said it.

I LOVE candy corn and if you disagree then it’s a good thing you’re allowed to be wrong once a day

And some hate it;
Candy corn and Peeps are fun holiday candy that are nasty and shouldn’t be eaten. You can’t change my mind.

Candy corn is the worst Halloween candy.

So, Brampton, how do you feel about candy corn?
