Peel shows decline in cases as Ontario deals with highest number of infections since pandemic began

Peel Region is recording 433 new cases of COVID-19 according to data released by the Ontario government today (Dec. 4).
The numbers make up a part of the 1,780 new cases reported for the entire province, which has resulted in a seven day average of 1,759 new cases each day.
Ontario is currently dealing with the highest caseload of the virus since the pandemic began with nearly 15,000 people being dealt with by healthcare workers.
Other areas with significant daily numbers include Toronto with 633, York Region 152, Halton Region 51 and Hamilton with 43.
Twenty-five people in Ontario have died in the past 24-hours due to the virus.
Hospitals are currently treating 674 of confirmed cases, with 116 people on ventilators.

The government also reports that 102 students attending Ontario schools have confirmed cases today.
