Skaters in Brampton, rejoice!

Skaters in Brampton, rejoice!

If you love to skate, or you want to try skating, you’ll be very excited to know that outdoor skating at all three of Brampton’s skating trails are set to open in just a few short weeks on the fateful day of Saturday December 9, 2017.

Here are Brampton’s skating trails and their schedules:

Chinguacousy Park Skate Trail (9050 Bramalea Rd – featured in our cover photo!)

This trail is designed in an irregular “canal” shape to ensure all skaters can practice their skills, regardless of ability. It has over 2,000 sq. metres of ice and can hold up to 500 skaters.

You can rent skates and helments on Thursday and Friday from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

It’s open from Monday-Sunday from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Gage Park Outdoor Skating Trail (Main and Wellington)

Gage Park is pretty majestic as is, and it transforms into its own mini winter wonderland during the winter.

A DJ spins tracks as you skate, there’s a fire pit where you can keep warm, and there’s a food trailer and skate and helment rentals available from Thursday through Sunday.

It’s open from Sunday-Thursday from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-11 p.m.

Mount Pleasant Outdoor Skating Rink (100 Commuter Drive)

This skating rink doesn’t have skate rentals or change rooms, but there are benches around the rink for changing into and out of skates.

It’s open from Sunday-Thursday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-10 p.m., and for parent and child skating on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Happy skating, Brampton!
