Wellington County OPP have charged a Brampton man after a three-car crash Sunday that led to one of the drivers running away from the scene.

The incident occurred Sunday night around 5 p.m. when police say a transport truck rear-ended a vehicle on the Hanlon Expressway near Kortright Rd. in Guelph. The crash caused a chain-reaction which resulted in damage to several vehicles.

According to police, the driver of the truck got out of the vehicle and ran off until he was arrested by Guelph police a short time later.

Two people were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The crash closed the Hanlon Expressway for most of Sunday night.

Dilpreet Singh, 25, of Brampton, was turned over to the OPP and has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and two counts of failing to stop at the scene of a crash.

He will make a court appearance on January 8.
