OPP Arrest And Charge Three Brampton Residents With Impaired Driving

On August 2nd at about 10:06 p.m. an officer responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Airport Road and Beechgrove Side Road. After locating the vehicle and speaking to the driver, a breath demand was made. The driver registered a “fail” reading and was subsequently arrested and transported to Caledon Detachment for further tests to be conducted. 

As a result, Gary Matthew, a 43-year-old from Brampton, was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration equal to or exceeding 80 mgs. 

 The accused is expected to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 22, 2019, to answer to the charge. 

Then, on August 3rd at approximately 12:28 a.m., an officer conducted a welfare check on the motorist parked on the shoulder of Highway 410 at Mayfield Road. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the interior of the vehicle, and a roadside breath test was conducted. The driver registered a “fail” reading and was arrested, and transported to Caledon Detachment for further tests. 

As a result, Ryan Bandiera, a 21-year-old from Brampton, was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration equal to or exceeding 80 mgs, and novice driver – blood alcohol concentration above zero. 

The accused is expected to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 22, 2019, to answer to the charges.

Later, on August 5th at approximately 10:31 p.m., an officer responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Mayfield Road and Highway 10. During an investigation into the collision, the officer determined that the female driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken to Caledon Detachment, where breath tests were conducted.  

As a result, Deepali Sidhu, 35-year-old from Brampton, was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration equal to or exceeding 80 mgs. 

The accused is expected to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 29, 2019, to answer to the charges.

The OPP advises all residents to refrain from drinking and driving.
