The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has determined that no charges have been warranted in relation to an incident involving a Brampton woman and Toronto Police Services (TPS) officers.
According to the SIU, on May 10, 2020, a 75-year-old woman suffered a fractured ulna and radius of the left wrist in and around the time that TPS officers with the Emergency Task Force entered her home in Brampton on the strength of a search warrant.
On Nov. 18 it was announced that Joseph Martino, the Director of the SIU, determined that there were no reasonable grounds to believe that an officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the woman’s injuries.
