With the new school year starting, Jagmeet Singh is planning to visit Brampton to speak with students and parents about a safe return to school and child care for kids.

At 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, the NDP leader will discuss how to keep kids safe during a press conference at Minaker Park, outside of Claireville Public School.

At noon, Singh is expected to hold a “JagMeet and Greet” with students at Sheridan College’s Davis Campus in Brampton.

On the topic of child care, Singh had previously called on Ottawa to provide provinces with billions in funding for child care — an immediate funding of $2 billion and another $10 billion over the next four years.

“The federal government must acknowledge that if we want a recovery, we need to make sure women can get back to work and that means assuring that there’s affordable and accessible child care,” Singh said.
