Man charged in fatal fail to remain collision in Brampton

Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau have made an arrest in relation to a fatal fail to remain collision that occurred in the City of Brampton on January 5, 2020.

Police say it occurred in the area of Queen Street East and Cherrycrest Drive.

On Sunday, January 5, 2020, at 12:20 a.m., 16-year-old Dianna Manan of Toronto was found lying in the middle of a live lane of traffic on eastbound Queen Street near the intersection of Cherrycrest Drive in Brampton, according to police.

Manan was transported to a trauma centre where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Following an intensive investigation, on June 25, 2020, officers from the Major Collision Bureau arrested 21-year-old Adhinath Sankar of the City of Vaughan.

He was arrested and charged with Fail to Remain Causing Death and was held pending a bail hearing.
