Male arrested for series of break and enters in Brampton

Investigators from the 21 Division Break and Enter Unit have arrested a man responsible for a series of night time break and enter to businesses in the City of Brampton.

Investigators from the 21 Division Break and Enter Unit have arrested a man responsible for a series of night time break and enter to businesses in the City of Brampton.

Numerous break and enters took place between April 4, 2020, and April 18, 2020, according to police.

These incidents took place at a strip plaza in the area of Gardenbrooke Trail and Castlemore Road in Brampton.  

On Monday, April 13, 2020, police say the male was attempting to break into a business when detected by the owner. 

The male fled the scene in a stolen 5-ton truck, striking two vehicles, failing to remain at the scene of the accidents and making good his escape, according to police.

No injuries were sustained by the occupants of the vehicles that were struck and the stolen vehicle was abandoned and later recovered by police. 

On Wednesday April 22, 2020 investigators from the 21 Division Break and Enter Unit arrested and charged Manjinder Singh, a 22-year-old resident of Brampton with seven Counts of Break and Enter, one Count of Possession of Stolen Property Obtained by Crime, one Count of Mischief Over $5000.00, two Counts of Mischief Under $5000.00, two Counts of Fail to Remain, One Count of Breach of Recognizance and one Count of Possession of Break and Enter Tools.

Police say Singh was in possession of break and enter tools at the time of his arrest.

He was held for a bail hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice.
