In case you missed last night’s NBA Finals game 2, Brampton’s very own Alessia Cara performed the Canadian National Anthem.

Alessia Caracciolo, 22, of Brampton is better known by her stage name of Alessia Cara. She has made a massive career for herself in the music industry, reaching high in both Canadian and American hot billboard charts throughout recent years as well as being nominated for 4 Grammy awards including a win for Best New Artist in 2018.

She has also worked with many other big names in the industry like rapper Logic and music producer/DJ Zedd.

Cara performed the Canadian National Anthem at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto last night (June 2) for thousands of fans live, as well as millions watching the game elsewhere. Many viewers in Brampton’s Jurassic (Garden) Square song the anthem along with her and cheered her on.

Singer Fantasia Barrino also performed at the arena, where she sang the American National Anthem. Going by the stage name Fantasia, she was the winner of the third season of American Idol and has also made quite the name for herself in the music industry.

This was the second game in the NBA finals between the Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors. The series is currently tied 1 – 1.

The next game will be held on Wednesday, June 5.

The City of Brampton will be airing all NBA Finals games on the big screen at Garden Square.
