Fortinos store in Brampton records ninth COVID case since second wave hit

New cases of COVID-19 at a Brampton grocery have brought the total of those infected at the location to nine since October.

The store, Fortinos at 55 Mountainash Rd. at Bovaird Dr. E., is now reporting two incidents of workers contracting the virus according to information released today (December 31).

The two workers last were on the job at different times, December 23 and December 27.

Other cases of workers who had COVID-19 at the location were reported on:
• December 28
• December 23
• December 16
• December 1
• November 6
• October 26
• October 16

In an effort to be transparent, Loblaw, the parent company of Fortinos, has been regularly releasing information about stores within its system where COVID-19 has been discovered. In Ontario this includes all Loblaw stores, City Market, Extra Foods, Fortinos, Joe Fresh, Nofrills, Real Canadian Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart, T&T, Valu-mart, Wellwise, Wholesale Club, Your Independent Grocer and Zehrs.

The company says when a positive test occurs in one of the stores, managers work with public health departments and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts. As well, cleaning and sanitizing takes place on a regular basis.
