Although it’s hard to pin down what exactly constitutes authentic Canadian cuisine (is it maple syrup? Caribou? Peameal bacon?), we do know that some of our signature dishes are just waiting to be discovered by the world.
And now, it looks like we have the chance to show the world how amazing our greatest export–our poutine–is.
Smoke’s Poutinerie recently announced that it launched the first-of-its-kind food truck eatery at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
One of the fastest growing poutineries (which recently opened a brand new location in City Centre) has arrived at Pearson airport. The brand says it’s bringing the “nation’s most iconic dish to all fry, gravy, and cheese curd craving travelers both in Canada and abroad.”

Smoke’s Poutinerie, in cooperation with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA), is about to host the grand opening of its newest location, situated in Terminal 3 Arrivals.
The launch event, slated for Feb. 9, will reportedly boast free poutine and bring “an all Canadian experience and signature Toronto food truck culture to Canadians and new comers to the country.”
Diners can expect a decidedly themed experience.
“Travelers can expect to be greeted in true Canadian fashion, with the brand’s lumberjack plaid, Canadiana culture and unforgettable twist on Canada’s traditional poutine,” Smokes representatives wrote in a statement. “The partnership between Smoke’s Poutinerie and global restaurateur HMSHost, which operates this location, is bringing the great outdoors to travelers right inside the airport with the first Smoke’s Poutinerie mobile food truck style eatery.”
Smoke’s CEO Ryan Smolkin will be on hand at the grand opening.
The grand opening will run from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
