Another major distribution centre closed due to COVID-19 in Brampton

The Canadian Tire distribution centre in Brampton is the latest Peel Region warehouse affected by COVID-19.
Located at 8850 Goreway Rd., the centre has been partially closed by Peel Public Health due to an outbreak of the virus.
The site previously had a small outbreak of six workers who tested positive for COVID-19 last December.
This current partial closure falls under new public health guidelines that call for action when five or more people at a workplace test positive for the virus within a 14-day period.
A partial closure means an entire shift or a specific area within the company location can be shut down.
Peel Public Health won’t say how many people are affected or any other specifics of the case.

However, Peel Public Health says the closure is necessary to stop the spread of COVID-19 between employees while cases in the workplace are investigated.
The affected areas will be allowed to re-open when the health department determines that it is safe to do so.
