COVID-19 cases in Peel Region continue to fall

There are 342 new cases of COVID-19 in Peel Region today according to data released by the Ontario government.

As well, the number of new cases across Ontario today is listed at 1,670, a number that is slowly declining each day and is the lowest since December 8.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says there are 450 new cases in Toronto and 171 in York Region.

She says that nearly 55,200 tests were completed since the last daily update.

Ontario is reporting that 9,513 more doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered since Tuesday’s update.

A total of 305,330 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the province so far.

Another 2,725 people have recovered from the virus, a total of 232,480 in the province.

There have been 260,370 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ontario since the pandemic began and 5,958 people have died from the virus.
