Peel Region’s health department has partially shut down three more workplaces in Mississauga and Brampton because of COVID-19 outbreaks.
The affected workplaces are:
- Premier Candle Corporation at 960 Britannia Rd. E. in Mississauga
- WG Pro Manufacturing at 10 Auction Lane in Brampton
- Canada Post Gateway facility at 4567 Dixie Rd. in Mississauga.
The shutdowns occurred today, April 28.
The number of workplaces that are partially closed has reached 10 workplaces in Peel Region.
At an April 28 general committee meeting, Ward 5 Councillor Carolyn Parrish said that Palma Pasta has voluntarily closed all of its facilities in Mississauga due to a small number of positive COVID-19 tests among staff members. Parrish said the company will reopen its facilities once it gets the all-clear from the Region of Peel.
A closure or partial closure happens when five or more people at a workplace test positive for the virus within a 14-day period. The closure could lead to a mass dismissal of a shift or a specific work area within the company.
These workplaces will be allowed to re-open when the health department determines that it is safe to do so.
