City of Brampton to commemorate Remembrance Day virtually

This year, the City of Brampton will honour Remembrance Day virtually on November 11, alongside Royal Canadian Legion Branches 15 and 609, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Brampton’s Veterans of War and those who made the ultimate sacrifice will be honoured on the City’s Brampton Remembers webpage.
Additionally, flags at all City of Brampton facilities will be flown at half-mast.
The webpage will go live on November 11 at 10:55 am and will feature a virtual service including the Moment of Silence and Placing of Wreaths.
It will also feature videos of Brampton veterans on what Remembrance Day means to them.
The City will also hang banners along Main Street and Queen Street in downtown Brampton, as a tribute to Brampton’s Veterans of War.

The Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Campaign will launch on October 30 and run until November 11.
Funds raised from this campaign will directly support Canada’s serving and retired veterans and their families and will help to ensure Canadians never forget the efforts of those who serve.
Those who wish to donate to the Poppy Campaign in exchange for a poppy may do so at various business locations in Brampton.
“While we may not be able to gather in person to commemorate this Remembrance Day due to COVID-19, our Brampton Remembers webpage provides the opportunity on November 11 for all to honour our Veterans of War and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Lest we forget,” said Mayor Patrick Brown.
